They say never judge a book by it’s cover … but these days some book covers are just so stunning it’s really tempting to. Since I happen to love books and art I’ve become quite obsessed with drop dead gorgeous book covers. Of course I still have to be interested in the story but then again…
Every night you’ll usually find me reading until 2 am with a couple of cats tucked under the covers and Brandon snoozing away. Brandon reads too – but he’s more interested in Jules Verne adventures, pirates, photography, and books that do not feature apples or floating bracelets on the cover.
1. Twilight – oh my Twilight. how I love thee. I already loved vampires (big Anne Rice fan) and this was just good fun. The cover = yummy.
2. The Lovely Bones - now a movie (which I really want to go see) and apparently it needed a new cover to go with it (yuck!) but the original cover has always been awesome. I loved this book from the very first sentence to the end – it’s a captivating and heartbreaking story.
3. Her Fearful Symmetry – I have not read this book yet because I still have a love/hate relationship with The Time Traveler’s wife. But it keeps winking at me when I’m in the bookstore. The cover is very cool. Still not ready to make a commitment. Yes, I have issues.
4. Shiver - what I’m reading right now. No, it’s not Twilight. Yes, there are werewolves. So far I’m intrigued with the cover and the story.
5. Skinny – the cover lured me in (with ice cream no less.) Skinny tells the story of a young woman who suffers from anorexia. It’s realistic and tragic.
6. The Dark Divine - I haven’t read this yet either – but the cover oh… and the story sounds interesting too.
