the day it snowed all day

We really did have a white Christmas this year. In Texas you never know what the weather will be like (but I think it’s pretty safe to say C R A Z Y.) This was that first bout of snow in December and it just came roaring in on Christmas Eve day. Here in the country it snowed ALL day! We had 3 and 4′ snow drifts. The wind was blowing crazy big flakes everywhere. I’ve never seen that much snow here actually – it was fabulous fun.

We took very few pictures over the holidays with our cameras – we were mostly involved with the quest for all things food, cuddly pets, the family, napping and staying warm. As it turns out our family couldn’t make it out Christmas Eve so we had the dinner to ourselves (but they did make it out the next day and we had plenty of leftovers!) Just before sunset Brandon and Ava and I ran around the winter wonderland to take a few pictures. Then we went back inside to warm up and decorate our gingerbread houses and men. It was lots of fun. It snowed again around New Year’s and now we have this super cold “arctic blast” going on.  Needless to say, I’m hibernating as much as possible while day dreaming of warm Caribbean breezes…

Brandon had this idea for a picture as part of my mom’s OH SHOOT! Digital Photo Scavenger Hunt on Facebook.  It’s our Bella Pop Christmas tree through the viewfinder of one of our vintage cameras.
