Jo Totes – Camera Bags for Ladies
New. camera. bag!!! Ok, so funny story about this bag… I stumbled upon Jo Totes back when we were packing for the move so I bookmarked it to order later. I’m always on the look out for a slimmer, purse-like camera bag. Well during the same time my mom found these bags too and she ordered one. Turns out it was the grey Millie bag I had drooled over and planned on ordering! We had a good laugh about it and my mom ended up insisting she wanted the yellow one too – so I ended up getting the grey and she picked the marigold. Yes, that’s how we roll! ha ha ha.
So loving my grey Millie bag! It’s the perfect size to hold one camera body (I’m using the 5DM2) and one lens (my fave 50mm 1.2) – it doesn’t have a lot of pockets but great for my iPhone and a slim wallet with my ID and debit card. This bag is great for daily outings, social shoots… trips to the zoo. I’ve also used it for a couple of photo shoots when Brandon’s with me and has the backup gear. Ideally though it’s best for when you want a little gear with you but you don’t want to be bogged down with a ton of photography equipment. It comes with two dividers but I like to use one. If you use a smaller camera body (like the Rebel) I’m sure you can fit one camera body and 2 lenses. The quality is great and it’s a faux-leather. If the Millie bag doesn’t float your boat there are also the Betsy, Rose and Tote styles in a variety of colors. Be sure to check them out!

Hey Brandy and Brandon! My name is Angela. I’m a friend of Matt and Andrea’s. I’m so glad your website is back up and running! I ran across this post just in time! I’m going to Chicago in February and my hubby and I just bought our first DSLR camera. I used to have a 35mm SLR in college (until it was stolen!) and I am so excited about having a real camera again! Anyway, I was looking for a camera bag (that doesn’t look like those big ugly black bags you usually find) that could also double as a purse while we’re in Chicago. You think this one would hold our Nikon D3100 with our standard 18-55mm lens, a cellphone, keys and a wallet? I love the across the body strap so you can have both hands free for taking pics and whatnot. Anyway, thanks so much for any replies and I’m glad to see y’all back in business online! Woo!
Hi Angela!! So exciting that you’re hitting up Chicago! And yay for the new DSLR camera!! Absolutely the Millie bag (or the other styles) will hold your gear. I can fit my hefty 5dM2 body, and 2 big lenses. The Millie bag comes with 2 dividers to make 3 compartments. There are two side pockets that will hold a slim wallet, keys, cell phone, extra battery and cards with no problem. Have a great time in Chicago and take lots of pictures! xoxo Brandy
I ordered one today! I even managed to get one they had listed out of stock. I emailed them, just in case, and Kate was so sweet to check for me! I’m getting the Millie in Teal and I can’t wait! Thanks Brandy!
yay!! how exciting!! you’re gonna love it :) xoxo B
Love this! And it’s not so HUGE!
Susie, it’s the perfect size!! Great for busy locations like the zoo and state fair when you don’t want your crazy big camera bag bumping into people. I love this bag :) xoxo B
This bag is great! I love the pleats on the flap! And your site looks like so much fun! Can’t wait to take a peek around it : )
thanks Tori! I must confess, I want *more* camera bags. LOL I also have a big turquoise one, I’ll have to take pictures with it too sometime. It’s pretty big though, so not my go to bag. Thanks for stopping by! xo b
