Family Reunion 2012 – Light Painting (Part 3)

Happy Friday!!  Here’s part 3 from our Family Reunion – this time I used the big guns (aka my Canon 5DMII) and we had so much fun.  The first night my cousin Linzie and I walked out the road towards the swimming hole where it was nice and dark, set up and went to town being crazy with lights.  We did it forever and had a blast!  Eventually we discovered that using the bulb setting and the remote was soooooo much easier.  Because yes, we were intent on doing these all in one take!!  HA HA.

The next night I wanted to get a long exposure of my family enjoying the Karaoke singing and my cousin Megan was quite entertained helping out / watching me look like a crazy girl dancing in the dark for no apparent reason.  ;)   We used a flashlight for the white light and my iGlowstick app for the colors.  We had so much fun and I love the results!   p.s. my ever faithful Ava pup was right there the whole time!  Chocolate labs rule.

This picture actually said “davib” so I flipped the b to d in Photoshop.  The “s” was backwards too.   ;)  Linzie loves David!  And they’re getting marrieeeeed!  YAY!!

Light painting is SO much fun.  You’ll need a tripod, remote and some lights to dance around with.  Make a night of it and see what you create!
