Family Reunion 2012 – iPhone (part 2)

Ready to get your camp on?  It’s time for some more Family Reunion 2012!  Oh yeahhhhhh!

We lucked out with great weather for this year’s reunion – it was hot… but not CRAZY hot.  You’ll be happy to hear Texas officially got her crazy on this week:  100+ degrees, baby!  Anyway… our family was up bright and early for some coffee and general harassment.  Yes I crawled out of bed at 7:30 am.  There was probably a little snow cone stand in hell.

So my cousins Nik & G have this dog named Chief and he is SO SWEET.  He’s a Great Dane + Labrador mix… he looks like a mega lab. (You know, like mega shark vs. giant octopus?)  Of course, I had to snap a photo of a little lab and a big lab together.  Yes, my dog has a pink collar with bling.  It says Ava.

Each year we have a little auction to pay for this shindig – and I bought a vintage clicker.  YES!  Now I can finally *count* all my trick or treaters!!  Cousin G ran the price up – he likes to do that.  Mom and dad scored a cookie jar full of homemade cookies.  We ate them all.

My baby cousin Liz had her new baby and he’s such a cutie pie!  Later we hit the lake, Ava pup with her own float.  My dog is a water dog and swims great but she gets tired and won’t stop swimming (even if you hold her!)  So I bought her a float that has a net bottom and it works perfect.  She jumps out and gets in on her own.  My dog is the cutest.

All that swimming works up an appetite which is a good thing because Saturday evening = pot luck!  There’s always lots of yummy food to eat,  plus our family’s EPIC blackberry cobbler.  As in, so good we fight over it.  My cousin Christy was so intent on scoring cobbler she ate it first before “real food”  ha! Oh, I totally understand… I nabbed a bowl and hid it under my dinner plate.  Hey you snooze, you loose.

After dinner dad took us out on the boat for a little 3 hour tour. I mean a 30 min. sunset cruise. Sorry, Gilligan’s Island does that to me. I just love Lake Whitney! It’s a big, pretty lake with lots of waves… one of my faves for sure.  And last but not least, I love this photo with my parents.  It’s funny because we *always* think to take a photo before we leave when we are exhausted.  Ava had so much fun she slept the entire ride home, that night and the next day.  Tired pup!  Good times, good times.

Stay tuned for one more reunion post… some light painting we did with the big camera!      :)
