Family Reunion 2008

My mom Sandy comes from a big family. She was the baby of 7 children, born to Harvey and Maebell Clawson. The first Clawson Clan reunion took place in 1968 – the year my cousin Jimmy was born. That was 40 years ago (sorry Jim, you have to accept it sometime ha!) That being said, we have a large family. Every summer we still gather at either Lake Proctor or Lake Whitney to eat, greet and harass each other. We’ve had talent shows, luaus and water balloon fights. Vicious games of charades. Treasure hunts. Potlucks where we fought over Grandma’s homemade blackberry cobbler. Toe rallies, men’s Miss Swimsuit competition and don’t forget the young’uns (and NOT so young’uns) tripping the breakers on the big rigs while we sleep. Yes… we will get you next year.

This year the big activity was thought up by my cousin Bunny – the Clawson Cardboard Boat Race. I decided to be a spectator so I could take some fun photos. We had a great time and I love seeing all my family. Here are some of my favorites from the weekend…
