Cari and Ryan were married in July 2009 at the gorgeous Gaylord Hotel in Grapevine. There was laughter. There were tears. There were wedding crashers.
Yes, full on wedding crashers.
During the reception one of the Gaylord coordinators caught this crazy looking guy wearing a Fedora posing as a photographer. She was asking him who he was, if he was with the wedding. He responded with, “I’m with the photographers” just when I unknowingly turned the corner I got brought into the conversation. ”Is he with you? He says he’s with the photographers” I looked at him and said, “no…” trying to figure out what was going on. Pretty soon he claims he’s with the Groom’s family (or was it the Bride’s) and we walk off to verify this information. Now you can see this moment on MTV.
Crazy right? Cari just sent this link to us today – you’ll have to watch most of it and there are some commercials but you’ll see the wedding. And if you watch closely you’ll eventually see me and Brandon (weird!!) It’s funny now but it was really annoying at the wedding. We had no idea who these people were and they were videotaping messages from the guests and other stuff and being general creepers. We later learned that the goal was to make a toast at a stranger’s wedding. Brandon and I were cracking up at the end of this video where the guys admit they just couldn’t make a toast. Wedding toast fail! ha ha! Make a Toast at a Stranger’s Wedding (Episode 102 – the Buried Life.)
I absolutely loved all the little details of their big day: the feathers on Cari’s beautiful gown, a ring bearer pillow made of flowers, the colors of purple and orange (TCU and UT.) The guests had a great time despite the crazy wedding crashers, their ceremony was simply wonderful and overall it was a perfect day. Thanks so much Cari and Ryan! We hope you are living the good life in your new home together!
