Austin Trip (Part 1) – iPhone

Yes, it’s true.  We’re up to no good again.  Things are crazyyyyyy right now and I am bouncing off the walls with excitement.  Needless to say it’s been a challenge to blog.  Anywho, it’s about time to share some photos from Camperrrrrr’s first road trip!  A couple of weeks ago we drove down to Austin for a much needed vacay.  This time I made reservations unlike the notorious New Orleans road trip.  Ha ha. We stayed at McKinney Falls State Park which is a gorgeous park about 15 min. outside of downtown Austin, really great location!  It was a weekday when we arrived so we got the pick of campsites (yay trees!!)  After setting up camp / exploring the park we hit up a late night diner for dinner, then geared up to check out Hamilton Pool on our first day.

And yeah, I pretty much took all my photos with my iPhone.  Being that I’m still “recovering” from life as a wedding photog ;) it’s really refreshing to take photos with something so small.  Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my 5DMii and sometime I want to get a Panasonic Lumix LX5 too, but I do love my iPhone4s.  It’s magical!  I just like to shoot with everything it seems!  Here are a few of my faves…

Camping breakfast of champions.  ;)  So here’s the thing, Hamilton Pool has a “one car in, one car out” policy.  Basically because it’s protected and they don’t have a very big parking lot.  I knew there could be a wait (B was blissfully unaware ha!) but hoped that a weekday would be better.  At about 1:00 pm we pulled up and there was quite a line but we only waited about 30 min. to get in.  I’ve read that on weekends it could be a 2 hour wait, so get there early!  After the wait you get to go on a 1/4 mile hike to the pool itself.  But trust me, it’s worth it!
